Telangana Board Exam 2021 Cancelled / Postponed: As per the latest update, the Telangana State Government has decided to cancel the TS SSC Exam 2021 for Class 10 students in the wake of the rapid rise in the Coronavirus cases. On similar lines, TSBIE Intermediate Exam 2021 has been postponed to a later date, keeping safety of the students as the top priority. The decision from Telangana Government comes a day after CBSE – Central Board of Secondary Education took a similar decision, cancelling Class 10 Exam and Postponing Class 12 Exams due to the worsening situation of Coronavirus pandemic.
Decision at Meeting Chaired by Chief Minister
As per media reports, the decision to cancel BSE TS SSC / Class 10 Exam 2021 and to postpone Telangana Inter / Class 12 Exam 2021 was taken at a high-level review meeting chaired by Chief Minister KC Rao. The meeting was attended by special chief secretary of education Chitra Ramachandran, commissioner and secretary of Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) Syed Omer Jaleel, director of government examinations (DGE) A Satyanarayana Reddy. In the meeting, different stakeholders presented findings about the prevailing situation and also their proposal on the upcoming exam. After considering all the proposals, Chief Minister took the final decision of cancelling SSC exams and postponing Intermediate Exams. Assessment Matrix for Class 10 Students
As per the official order released by the Special Chief Secretary Of Education Chitra Ramachandran, as the TS SSC Exam 2021 has been cancelled, the TSBSE would bring in a new objective assessment criterion for Class 10 students. So, in the coming days, the Board of Secondary Education – BSE, Telangana, will decide and announce the assessment matrix that is to be followed for Class 10 students. Moreover, the order also says that those students who are not satisfied with the marks allotted to them as per the assessment module will be given a chance to appear for the exam as and when the conditions improve.
Intermediate Exam Postponed till June
As per the official order released by the Higher Education Department of Telangana Government, the TS 2nd Year Intermediate Exams 2021, which were scheduled to be held from 1st to 19th May 2021, have been postponed. In addition to this, the order also says that exams will remain postponed until June, when a review meeting would be held and only thereafter future dates for TSBIE 2nd Year Inter Exam 2021 would be announced. The notice also confirmed that students would be given a 15-day prior intimation or notice before the start of the Exams. Another important aspect that students should note is that for this year i.e. 2021, the 25% weightage of Intermediate Marks will not be considered for TS EAMCET 2021 Entrance Exam.
1st Year Intermediate Students Promoted
Another significant fact that the official order mentions is that TS 1st Year Intermediate Exam 2021 have also been cancelled and all students would be promoted to the next academic grade without holding of the exams. Moreover, TS 2nd Year Intermediate students who have backlogs would be given minimum passing marks for the backlogs only. trainer mentors will be trained to use the framework to create model question banks and collection of lesson plans. As per earlier reports, the new framework will be implemented for the students from classes 6 to 10. The new assessment framework aims at replacing the existing learning model with a competency-based framework as per the new NEP 2020.
