Educational Institutes To Remain Close: Rajasthan has ordered all the state educational institutions including schools and colleges to remain close on 17th April as part of the weekend curfew. This move has been imposed to avoid the spread of COVID-19 around the city. The state government has inflicted a weekend curfew from 16th (from 6 pm) to 19th April (till 5 am) to ensure lessened movement of people in public places. This will also help in reducing the risk of transmission of the virus.
The state Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasra said, “In respect of the weekend curfew imposed from 6 pm on Friday evening to 5 am on Monday, 17th April has been declared a complete holiday in all educational institutions of the state”. This decision was taken by the state Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot after discussing with state education minister Govind Singh Dotasra.
Earlier, Rajasthan postponed classes 10th and 12th board exams. However, they have not released the revised date sheets. Also, the state promoted all the students of classes 8th, 9th, and 11th without taking the final examinations.
