MP Universities to hold Open Book Exams: As per the latest update, the Madhya Pradesh State Government has directed the State-run Universities, Colleges to hold Open Book Tests for students of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Earlier, the state had announced open-book exams for first and second-year students, but now, Open Book Exams would be held for even Final Year Students who are studying at State-govt run universities and colleges. The decision has been taken keeping in mind the COVID-19 2nd Wave and the rapidly rising Coronavirus infections.
News Confirmed by Higher Education Minister
The news about the Madhya Pradesh State-run Universities being asked to hold Open Book Tests for UG and PG Semester Exam 2021, has been confirmed by the State Education Minister. The State Higher Education Minister Mohan Yadav, while speaking to reporters confirmed that there won’t be any physical exams for colleges and universities and the state is expecting the normal routine to be followed in July. Interacting with media persons, Mr Yadav said that “Amid increasing COVID cases, there will be open-book exams for final year students of UG and PG courses, just like it was during 1st and 2nd-year exams. There won’t be any exam in college.” He also added that he expects the normal academic session to resume from July 2021 onwards.
Board Exams Postponed, Final Exams Cancelled for Class 9 and 11
Earlier in the week, the Madhya Pradesh School Education Department had taken several important measures and precautionary steps to ensure the safety of school students during the COVID-19 2nd Wave. As part of this, the Madhya Pradesh 10th and 12th Exam 2021 have been postponed to a later date by the government, while the state government has also cancelled the Class 9 and Class 11 final exams for the students. This step has been taken keeping in mind the safety and health of the students as the top priority.
