Manipur Board Exam 2021 Postponed: As per the latest update, the Manipur State Government has decided to postpone the MBSE HSLC Exam 2021 for Class 10 and COHSEM HSE Exam 2021 for Class 12 students in the wake of the COVID-19 surge. According to the date sheet or timetable published earlier, the Manipur Class 10 and 12 Board Exams 2021 were slated to commence from 5th May 2021 onwards.
In addition to this, the state government has also ordered the closure of all schools and coaching centres in the state due to the rapidly rising Coronavirus cases in Manipur. On similar lines, the state government has also ordered the closure of boarding and hostels in schools, and private hostels accommodating students with immediate effect across the state.
Formal Order Issued by Education Commissioner
With rumours and speculations about the postponement of exams school closures rampant on social media, the state government has decided to issue a formal circular or order confirming the news. To so do, Commissioner (Education-S) T Ranjit Singh, Manipur issued the order which contains the details about the postponement of MBSE Board Exams 2021 and Closure of Schools, Hostels and Coaching Institutes in Manipur.
The official order released in this regards reads “Board exams for Classes 10 and 12 were postponed in Manipur schools in view of the surge in COVID-19 cases. The exams were postponed considering the seriousness of the ever-increasing positive cases of COVID-19 and the impending threat caused by it.”
Furthermore, the order also talks about school closures saying that “classes on school campuses that began on January 27 for students of Classes 11 and 12 were also suspended with immediate effect and Online classes will be resumed at the earliest.”
New Dates for Board Exams Soon
While the state government has decided to postpone the MBSE and COHSEM Board Exams in the light of the prevailing COVID-19 situation, no new dates for the same have been notified yet. According to the details provided by officials, the state government would issue a fresh date sheet for both BSEM HSLC Exam 2021 and COHSEM HSE Exam 2021 soon.
