Maharashtra FYJC Admission criteria 2021-22 to be decided after consultation with Stakeholders

Maharashtra state government School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad in a meeting stated that a fair criterion will be implemented for the admissions to the Maharashtra First Year Junior College (Class 11) after consulting with the education stakeholders.

The education minister held a meeting with senior officials of the department and the state board exam advisory committee to discuss the Junior college admission procedures after the announcement was made of the cancellation of the Maharashtra SSC Examinations.

Suggestions and Options are given in the meeting

The minister stated that insightful suggestions and options were discussed for the admissions to class 11 in the state in the meeting conducted with the higher officials. The minister further added that the stakeholders will be consulted before taking a final decision on the admission criteria.

Gaikwad also added that this meeting was the first in a series of consultations planned by the department to be conducted with different stakeholders for evolving fair and objective criteria for the admissions.

Class 12 Exams postponed

The Maharashtra Class 10 board examinations were canceled by the authorities last Tuesday and the results for the exams will be declared based on an internal assessment which will be formed by the state department. The class 12 Maharashtra board exams have however been postponed until June 2021 and the new dates will be announced after conducting an assessment is conducted of the situation.

The admissions to junior colleges are conducted in Maharashtra through an online admission process. The students are required to apply online at 11thadmission.org.on following which the colleges will review the admission forms and release the merit list based on which the class 11 admissions will be conducted.
