CBSE Extends Deadline Till 30 June For Schools To Submit Class 10 Marks, Board Result To Be Delayed

CBSE Class 10 Result Delayed: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the deadline for the schools to upload class 10 marks. CBSE affiliated schools now can upload the marks till 30th June. Apart from this, the board has also extended the dates to submit the internal assessment marks of the cancelled class 10 board exams. They can submit the same by 30th June. This decision has been taken in response to the increase in COVID-19 cases. Also, the board is considering the health and safety of the teachers.

CBSE Extends Deadline Till 30 June For Schools To Submit Class 10 Marks, Board Result To Be DelayedThe Delhi Government had also urged the CBSE to review the timeline for compiling class 10 board exam results since many of its teachers are involved in COVID-19 duties and schools are being used as vaccination centres. In a letter to the CBSE, the government also cited the high positivity rate, the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the national capital and the lockdown imposed in the city.

CBSE Announcement

While making the announcement about revised dates for the tabulation of CBSE class 10 board exam marks, CBSE said “CBSE accords the highest priority to the safety and health of the teachers…Keeping in view the situation of the pandemic, lockdown in states and safety of teachers and other staff members of the affiliated schools, CBSE has decided to extend the dates.”

Earlier, CBSE informed that the marks for class 10 students will have to be submitted by schools by 11th June. Also, the class 10th board result had to be declared by 20th June. However, with the change in dates, the result for class 10 students will be delayed.

CBSE E Pareeksha Portal

On 10th May CBSE has also opened the ‘e Pareeksha’ portal for uploading the marks of class 10 students. Schools will have to upload the marks of the cancelled CBSE class 10 board exams as per the alternative assessment scheme released on 1st May. The board had asked schools to form a result committee consisting of principal and seven teachers for finalising results. Five teachers from the school should be from Mathematics, Social Science, Science and two languages, and two teachers from neighbouring schools should be co-opted by the school as the external members of the committee.

CBSE Alternative Assessment Scheme

The class 10th students will be evaluated out of a total of 100 marks for each subject. While 20 marks will be from internal assessment, 80 will be calculated from different exams conducted throughout the year. Once a school uploads students data, it will not be allowed to edit or modify it and therefore, the board has asked schools to be careful during the process.
