Gujarat Govt cancels University Exams 2021: As per the latest update, the Gujarat Government has decided to cancel all the pending University level semester exams for various undergraduate courses in the state in the light of the current pandemic situation. The decision to cancel the university level exams for college students was announced by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today on 21st May 2021. Following the cancellation of Gujarat Semeter Exams 2021, nearly 9.5 lakh students of 2nd 4th and 6th semesters in Gujarat universities, except for those in medical and paramedical programs, would be promoted to the next academic grade on the basis of Merit.
Decision Announced on Twitter
Following the official decision taken by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, it was officially conveyed to the students via twitter. CMO Gujarat formally announced the decision via its official twitter handing confirming that semester exams for all undergraduate students have been cancelled in the wake of the pandemic. The tweet sent from the official account reads “In a major relief for over 9.50 lakh undergraduate college students, CM Shri @vijayrupanibjp decides to grant Merit Based Progression to the 2nd, 4th & 6th semester students, other than medial-para medical courses, of all the Govt and Pvt colleges/universities of the State.”
Details about Promotion Criteria to be Announced Soon
Along with cancellation of Semester Exams for undergraduate college students, the state government has not notified the promotion matrix or criteria to be followed by the board for promotion of the students to the next academic grade. Government will soon issue guidelines to colleges and universities on the basis of students will be evaluated and promoted as per merit. For students who are in medical and paramedical courses, their evaluation criteria will be announced. Earlier, Gujarat has announced the promotion of classes of 9 to 11 students without examination.
