Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Exams: Jawaharlal Nehru University Vice-Chancellor M Jagadesh Kumar has stated that the university will be conducting the JNU entrance examinations whenever it is deemed safe for the students to appear. He also added that if the entrance exams are delayed due to the COVID-19 situation and if the admissions happen later the university will surely adjust the academic calendar to take care of the lost time without compromising on the academic diligence.
The Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Exams are conducted for the admissions to the postgraduate and M.Phil programmes offered by the university. The entrance examinations are usually conducted in May and June but the exams have now been delayed due to the pandemic situation in the country.
The University has also held back on the registrations for the admissions to the Winter Semester programmes. The registrations for the Winter Semesters for 2021 were scheduled to commence from May 8, 2021, but have been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown.
The National Testing Agency will be releasing the JNU 2021 applications in the online mode and the complete schedule of the entrance exams will be released on the official website.
JNU COVID-19 health centres on campus
According to reports, JNU is planning to set up a COVID-19 health centre on campus for which the administration has sought financial support from the alumni of the university. JNU Vice-Chancellor has asked the alumni of the institution to donate at least a day’s salary for a larger amount to upgrade the health centre on campus to a COVID health centre. Stating that the university and its residents have been affected by the pandemic JNU Vice-Chancellor stated that the alumni should be a part of the endeavors of the university to provide safety and security to the students and other staff members.
