CBSE 10th Evaluation Scheme: Delhi HC asks for evaluation criteria for private candidates: According to recent reports, the Delhi High Court has asked the Central Board of Secondary Education to give the class 10 Evaluation Criteria for the private candidates. After the CBSE evaluation criteria were released, the High Court issued a fresh notification seeking clarity over the evaluation scheme for the class 10 private students.

CBSE 10th Evaluation Scheme: Delhi HC asks for evaluation criteria for private candidatesA Public Interest Litigation was filed on May 31, 2021, by Payal Bahl in which it was stated that the Central Board of Secondary Education had issued a notification for the policy of calculation of marks for the class 10 CBSE students who have been enrolled through a school the board has however not issued any evaluation criteria for the students who have been enrolled privately.

According to the PIL filed, the actions of the CBSE violate the fundamental rights of the students which will result in the loss of valuable education of the private students. The petition has also accused the CBSE of loss of future progress for the candidates and against the doctrine of Legitimate Expectation and Obligations of the state’s promissory estoppel.

The petition filed also stated that the students who are privately enrolled are deprived of their equal opportunity to process further education.

In order to get clarity on the questions asked in the petition, the Delhi High Court has asked the CBSE to give an evaluation criteria for the private candidates. The CBSE class 10 evaluation criteria for private class 10 students are expected to be announced soon.

CBSE class 12 Evaluation

The CBSE class 12 examinations were recently announced to be cancelled by the board. The examinations have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 situation and keeping in mind the safety of the students. When announcing the cancellation of the class 12 examinations, the board also stated that the class 12 students will be evaluated based on evaluation criteria which will be set by the board. The CBSE class 12 evaluation criteria are expected to be announced in two weeks time.
