Delhi University to waive off fees for Students who lost Parents to COVID-19: DU to waive of Fees for Students: As per the latest update, the University of Delhi has announced a very important initiative to help students, who might have lost their parents to COVID-19. The varsity has announced that it will waive off complete fees for students who have lost one or both parents to the coronavirus infection.
The unique initiative has come at a right time as many students from Delhi University might have lost either one or both of their parents to the pandemic and may need financial assistance to continue their studies. Colleges and Students have welcomed this step which will go a long way in ensuring that COVID-19 affected students are able to continue their studies.
100% Fee Waiver for Such Students
As per the details shared by the university, students who might have lost either one or both their parents to COVID-19 would be offer complete waiver of fees. This would also include examination and other fees that are charged beyond tuition and other components. Students who are studying at the university have been requested to get in touch with their respective department head to submit their names. Alternatively, at college level, students need to get in touch with their college administrators and submit their names.
Colleges asked to Compiled List of Students
As part of the roll out of this initiative, the Delhi University has asked colleges affiliated with it to conduct a survey and compile a list of students who might have lost their parents. In a formal letter written to the colleges, the university has asked colleges to submit this report to the varsity by Monday. This news has also been confirmed by Delhi University’s Dean of Colleges, Balaram Pani to PTI News Agency.
