12th Board Exam 2021: The Supreme Court in a hearing of a petition filed for the assessment of the class 12 students has issued a notification to the states who are yet to cancel the class 12 board examinations. Approximately 18 states including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Delhi, and Odisha have cancelled the class 10 and 12 board exams. Many of the state boards are yet to announce their decision regarding the class 10 and 12 board exams. These states include Punjab, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka

The CBSE and ICSE have submitted the evaluation criteria for the cancelled class 12 board examinations. The class 12 students from these boards will be evaluated based on the marks secured by the students in class 10 and 11 exams and the practical marks of class 12.

While the state boards including Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh are yet to finalize the evaluation criteria to be followed for the class 10 students Punjab education minister has stated that a decision on the board exams will soon be taken after considering the decision taken for the CBSE class 12 evaluation criteria.

CISCE Evaluation Scheme

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations has developed the formula for the evaluation of the Indian School Certificate Examinations. The assessment scheme will include the marks of class 10 board exams, project, practicals, best marks in school class 11 and 12 exams, and best marks of the students in the last six years.

CBSE Class 12 Evaluation

According to the class, 12 CBSE evaluation scheme submitted the board will be using a 30:30:40 scheme for assessment considering the class 10, 11, and 12 marks to evaluate the students. 30 percent weightage will be given to some aspects of the class 10 exams and class 11 exams respectively while 40 percent weightage will be given to Class 12 unit test/ mid-term/ pre-board exams
