CBSE 12th Exam 2021 Update: With the cancellation of CBSE Class 12 Exam 2021 earlier in the month, lakhs of students have heaved a sigh of relief; however, despite this major announcement, there are few students who are still concerned about their future. These are the students who are due to appear for CBSE Board 12th Exam 2021 as Private Candidates or for the upcoming Compartmental Exams.
Students who are due to appear for the CBSE Board 12th Class Compartmental Exams 2021 or for the main exams as private students, have moved the Supreme Court of India, seeking cancellation of the same. These students have demanded parity with the regular students, for whom the Class 12 Exams have been cancelled.
1100 Students Approach the Apex Court
As per the media report, a total of 1,152 students have reached out to the Supreme Court of India by filing a joint petition seeking relief and parity with other students. The petition filed by these students has requested the apex court to direct the board to cancel compartmental exams and exams for private candidates in physical mode. The petition also seeks directions from the court to the board to assess their performance evaluation by adopting a formula in line with the assessment formula adopted by CBSE for the regular students and to release the results in a time-bound manner.
The petition also requests the court to direct CBSE to allow Class 10 and 12 private/compartment students to file their objections within a reasonable period of time, in case they are not satisfied with the results so published. The petitioners also sought a direction to the CBSE to resolve the grievances/objections that would be raised, giving them fair and equal treatment with that of regular students, the petition said.
SC Hearing Expected on 21st June
The petition has been filed by advocate Abhishek Choudhary, and Manju Jaitley, seeking intervention and direction in the writ petition filed earlier before the top court for cancellation of CBSE/ICSE Board Examinations. The petition is likely to be heard by the apex court on 21st June 2021 – Monday.
