Cancelling CBSE class 12 exams Most Student-Friendly Decision says PM Modi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stated that the decision to cancel the CBSE class 12 examinations was taken after an extensive consultative process and it was the best and most student-friendly decision taken. The central government was given several inputs from the states across the country which proves insightful, enabling the government to take a decision that is student-friendly.

State Governments cancel Exams

After the central government’s decision to cancel the CBSE class 12 exams considering the pandemic many of the state governments including Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Goa, UP and Uttarakhand have also canceled the class 12 examinations. Some of the states are yet to make a decision regarding conducting the examinations.

While responding to the tweets acknowledging the decision, the Prime Minister stated that the health and welfare of the students is the topmost priority for the government. He also noted that it has been a hectic year for the students as they were confined to their homes due to the pandemic. Replying to the tweets, the PM stated that as said, given the present situation it was the best decision taken. While responding to a post by a teacher, the prime minister stated that the teaching community has played a vital role in the past year. He further applauded the teachers for supporting the students and ensuring that the education journey continues under the new normal.

CBSE class 12 Evaluation

The CBSE class 12 students will be evaluated based on evaluation criteria set by the board. According to media reports, the board has announced that it will take roughly two weeks to decide and finalize the CBSE class 12 evaluation criteria. The CBSE class 12 students will be evaluated based on the assessment criteria set by the board.
