CBSE 10th and 12th Exam 2021 Cancellation: Amid rising voices from students and teachers, Congress leaders, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi have urged the Government to reconsider its decision to hold the upcoming Board Exams. Mr. Rahul Gandhi sent a tweet from his account urging the government to reconsider holding Board Exams amid the ongoing much aggressive wave of Corona. On similar lines, Ms. Priyanka Gandhi reached out to Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ to conduct board exams under the prevailing COVID wave.
Rahul Gandhi urges Govt to Cancel CBSE Board Exams
Congress leaders and MP from Waynad Constituency today backed students’ demand for cancellation of CBSE Board Exam 2021 in the light of the ‘devastating Corona Second Wave’. In a tweet sent out from this official account, Rahul Gandhi wrote. In the light of the devastating Corona second wave, conducting #CBSE exams must be reconsidered. All stakeholders must be consulted before making sweeping decisions. He further added that “On how many counts does GOI intend to play with the future of India’s youth?”
Priyanka Gandhi writes to Education Minister
After earlier backing students’ and parents’ demand for cancellation of upcoming Board Exams, Ms. Priyanka Gandhi today wrote to Union Education Minister reiterating her demand. Sharing a photograph of a letter written to Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, Ms. Gandhi sent out a tweet from her official account saying “My letter to the Minister of Education @DrRPNishank asking him to reconsider allowing the CBSE to conduct board exams under the prevailing COVID wave.”
In the letter, Ms. Gandhi noted that in case any exam centers turn into a COVID-19 hotspot during the upcoming board exams, CBSE and the Central Government would be responsible for it. Ms. Gandhi also added that “The Government and the CBSE board might want to consider whether they are prepared to own the legal liability for students or others who might be severely affected by the disease in this manner.”
