CBSE Board Exams 2021 Latest News Today: Making a major announcement for students, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Saturday announced a policy for the tabulation of marks for class 10 board exams which have been canceled due to pandemic. Giving huge relief to students, the CBSE said the class 10 results will be announced by June 20.

CBSE Issues Policy For Class 10 Board Exam Result.As per the new policy of the CBSE, 20 marks for each subject will be for internal assessment and 80 marks will be calculated on basis of the student’s performance in various tests or exams throughout the year.

“Schools will also have to ensure that the marks awarded by them should be in consonance with past performance of the school in class 10 board exams. Schools will have to form an eight-member committee headed by a principal for finalizing results,” CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said in a statement.

He also said that the schools indulging in unfair and biased practices for assessment will have to face penalty or disaffiliation.

The CBSE Board further added in the statement that the marks should be in consonance with past performance of the school in class 10 board exams. The CBSE also asked the schools to form an 8-member committee for tabulating results for canceled class 10 board exams.

The CBSE has explained the assessment procedure on which students of Class 10 will be assessed. Students can access the notice here and also on the official site of CBSE on cbse.gov.in

As per the notification, the schools will conduct the assessment of students by forming a result committee consisting of the Principal and seven teachers for finalizing the result. Notably, five teachers from the school and two teachers from neighboring schools should be co-opted by the school as the external members of the Committee.

Important points from the notification:

1) As per the notification, the students will be assessed out of a maximum of 100 marks for each subject with 20 marks being for Internal Assessment and 80 marks for year-end Board examinations.

2) On the other side, the internal assessment for 20 marks will be done as per the existing policy of the CBSE.

3) As per the circular, internal assessments have already been done by the schools and a majority of schools have uploaded their data on the CBSE portal. Now the schools will have to upload the marks of the internal assessment latest by June 11, 2021.

4) The CBSE said as the class 10 Board examinations have been canceled, the assessment of 80 marks will be done by the school based on the marks scored by the candidate in the different tests/ exams conducted by the school during the year and the marks should be in consonance with the past performance of the school in Class 10 board exams.

The CBSE said in case a student fails to qualify even after grace marks, he/she would then be placed in the Essential Repeat or Compartment Category. However, the CBSE said it would not be conducting the compartment exams.
