Educational Institutes Closed in India: With the rapid increase in active COVID-19 cases, several states and Union Territories have closed down the schools, colleges, and universities due to the rapid surge in COVID 19 cases. States including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Odisha, West Bengal, and Rajasthan have closed down schools and colleges in the state. However, some of the states are still scrutinizing the situation to come to the decision soon.

Educational Institutes Closed in IndiaSeveral states have also announced the promotion of students without exams. Physical classes for all the students were canceled last year due to the outbreak of coronavirus. However, towards the end of 2020 and in early 2021, most of the states reopened schools, especially for board exam students. Schools, colleges, and universities have closed again, as the number of coronavirus cases rose across the country. Most of the schools and colleges have been provided permission to continue their online classes for the students. Check below the list of states that have closed down the educational institutes:
List of states that have closed down the educational institutes:

Meghalaya – The State Government has decided to close down schools in the Shillong area from tomorrow for the next 14 days. However, MBOSE 10th and 12th Exams 2021 i.e. SSLC and HSSLC Exams will be held as per the schedule announced earlier. To read more – Click Here
Haryana – All colleges and universities in the state will remain closed till 30th April. The Haryana Government has also declared the closure of schools for students of classes 1st to 9th till 30th April.
Odisha – The state has discontinued the physical classes of schools, colleges, and university students from 19th April 2021, till further orders.
Uttar Pradesh – With the increasing COVID-19 cases, the Uttar Pradesh Government declared on Thursday that all schools in the state will be closed till 15th May.
Gujarat – On Sunday, all the colleges in the state were directed to remain close till 30th April amid the increase in COVID-19 cases. All government and private colleges have been ordered to impart education through online mode instead of calling students to the campus.
Bihar – The schools, colleges, and other educational institutions will remain closed till 15th May. Also, during this period, state-run schools and universities will not conduct any exams. To read more – Click Here
West Bengal – Today, the state government announced the closing down of the schools from tomorrow 20th April. The government has also determined that summer vacation for government schools will start from 7th May. To read more – Click Here
Tamil Nadu – The state government ordered the higher education institutions to switch to online teaching. They also said that the semester exams will be conducted in the virtual mode now.
Himachal Pradesh – All educational institutions in the state will remain closed till 21st April due to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases.
Rajasthan – The state government has imposed 15 days lockdown in the state. They have also ordered the closure of all educational institutions from today, 19th April to 3rd May. All university exams and other exams in the state have also been postponed. To read more – Click Here
Jammu and Kashmir – The authorities have ordered the closure of all educational institutions, including colleges and universities, till 15th May. However, the courses or programs that require the physical presence of students on account of laboratory, research, thesis work, and internship will continue.
