Free Education announced by Delhi Government for Children who lost their parents to COVID-19: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced that the Delhi state government will be providing free education for the children who lost their parents to COVID-19. Delhi Chief Minister made the announcement while speaking at a press conference that free education will be provided to the children.
He stated that the educational expenses of the children who have lost their parents due to COVID-19 will be taken care of by the government.
Delhi is not the only state government to announce such a plan for the students. Recently, the Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh state governments also announced that free education and a monthly stipend will be offered to the students who have lost their parents due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
MP to offer free education and stipend
Madhya Pradesh state Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that the children who lost their parents or guardians to COVID-19 will be provided with free education and a monthly stipend of Rs. 5000 and monthly pensions. The Chief Minister also announced that the state will be granting loans on government guarantees to the people who want to work.
Delhi has reported 10,000 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours which is the lowest in recent days.
Chhattisgarh Government to pay for education
In a similar move, the Chhattisgarh government has also decided to pay for the education of the children who lost their parents due to COVID-19. State Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel tweets that the government will also try to shape the future of the orphaned children.
