Goa New Academic Session from 21st June: As per the latest update, the Goa Education Department has announced that the new academic session for educational institutions based in the state would commence from 21st June 2021 onwards. The final decision about mode of education i.e. either online or offline or regular classes would be taken by the department next week. Speaking to PTI news agency, Director of Education D Bhagat said that “A call on whether to ask students to join schools or conduct online classes will be taken seven to eight days in advance before the resumption of the session.”
Non-Teaching Staff Asked to Join Schools
With the number of COVID-19 cases decreasing daily, the state education department have directed all the non-teaching staff members to join their duty back already. The announcement comes as the number of Coronavirus cases in the state has fallen drastically. As of Sunday, Goa’s coronavirus caseload stood at 1,59,393 while the death toll stood at 2,760, a health official had said. Based on this, the state government ahs decided ongoing coronavirus-induced ‘curfew’ till 14th June 2021.
Goa Board SSC and HSC Exams 2021 Cancelled
Earlier, in the week Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had announced that the HSC Exam 2021 for Class 12 students has been cancelled in the state in the light of the prevailing situation. In the decision announced on 2nd June, Mr Sawant said that the decision to cancel the Class 12 board exam was taken by the state government after consulting experts and stakeholders and taking into account the suggestions of the students and parents. With exams cancelled, the Goa Board is now working on finalizing objective criteria and evaluation policy for Goa HSC Result 2021. Earlier, GBSHSE also cancelled the SSC Exam for Class 10 students and also notified evaluation criteria and marking policy on the basis of which results of students would be prepared.
