Karnataka Govt launches ‘Marali College Ge‘: As per the latest update, the Karnataka State Government has launched campaign ‘Marali College Ge’ i.e. Back to colleges, under which it plans to vaccinate all Degree Colleges Students. The Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan said that the vaccination drive will be held in the first or second week of July, after colleges and institutions would reopen for classes. The campaign aims at motivating degree college students to get vaccinated as the first step to go back to colleges after vaccination.

Expert Committee suggests Reopening of Colleges

While announcing the news about campaign for vaccination of the students, the Mr Narayan, who heads the Covid Task Force, told reporters that the expert committee appointed by the state government has also recommended reopening of colleges. Mr Narayan “A committee headed by Dr Devi Prasad Shetty has submitted a report covering all aspects, including the third wave. It has recommended opening degree colleges first. Students will be vaccinated in July, after which the classes will begin.”

Colleges Reopening as per Central Government Guidelines

While addressing media persons, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan that the state government is awaiting the central government guidelines on reopening colleges. He also added that vaccination for all those aged over 18 in the state is already underway on a priority basis. As part of taking this drive ahead and to ensure college students above the age of 18 years are vaccinated, the ‘Marali College Ge’ (Back to colleges) will be launched in July.
