Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has virtually inaugurated the reopening of the schools in the state for the 2021-22 academic year. The chief minister while inaugurating the ceremony urged the students to move forward together to create a new world.
While inaugurating the Pravesanolsavam (Reception Accorded to the students joining schools) the chief minister in the online function expressed hopes that the time is not far when the students will come to school. The digital classes for the students from class 1 to 9 began today through KITE-Victers channel through its First Bell portal
The Chief Minister stated that the time is not far when the students will go back to school wearing new clothes and carrying school bags. He also added that even though students are studying from home due to the pandemic, everyone can move forward to create a new world along with the students.
The Chief Minister also added that the Kerala Model for digital education during the COVID-19 pandemic is a successful one. The other ministers who participated in the function include Education Minister V Sicankutty, Ministers Antony Raju, GR Anil and others.
Special message for students
This is the second time that Praveshnolsavam is being conducted in the online mode due to the pandemic. During the function, film stars including Mohanlal, Prithviraj, Mamooty, Suraj Venjaramoodu, poets including Sachithanandan, Sreekumaran Tambi, Olympian PT Usha, and others wished the students good luck.
Chief of Disaster Risk Reduction in the UN Environment Programme, – Muralee Thummarukudy, magician Gopinath Muthukad, and Social Policy Advisor with UNICEF – Pius Antony interacted with the students.
Kerala state education department has stated that around 45 lakh students participated in the online inauguration. The classes for the students from class 10 to 12 will begin on June 7, 2021. The education minister also added that free handloom uniforms and textbooks will be distributed for the students from classes 1 to 4.
