Maharashtra State Education Minister, Varsha Gaikwad conducted a meeting with the principals and vice-principals of the colleges to decide on criteria for the class 11 admissions. The admission criteria were decided considering that the Maharashtra Class 10 exams were canceled due to the COVID-19 situation in the state.
Meeting conducted for admission criteria
The state education minister on Twitter stated that the meeting was conducted with the principals and vice-principals of prominent junior colleges from Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur as part of the consultations to form an assessment and admission policy for the class 10 students. She further stated that various insightful and valuable suggestions were made at the meeting.
Maharashtra Board exams for class 10 students have been canceled in the state due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation. The minister had announced that the students of class 10 will be marked based on the internal assessment. A meeting was conducted by the minister earlier to discuss the Fair and Objective criteria to promote the SSC students.
Result date to be announced soon
The Education Minister also added that the criteria based on which the results will be declared for the class 10 students and the date of declaration of the results will be announced soon. The Maharashtra School Education Department is committed to forming a fair and accurate assessment criterion for the students.
The state government has canceled the Maharashtra SSC exams while the HSC exams have been postponed due to the ongoing pandemic concerns in the state. A lockdown has also been imposed on the state to curb the increase of the cases in the state.
