Maharashtra School Exams Cancelled: As per the latest update, the Maharashtra State Government has decided to cancel school-level exams for students of Class 1 to 8 in light of the prevailing COVID-19 situation in the state. Following this, all students of primary and upper primary classes in Maharashtra will be promoted to the next academic grade without any exams. While the exams for students of Class 1 to 8 have been cancelled, the decision about Class 9 and 11 would also be taken soon.
Decision Announced by Education Minister
With the COVID-19 situation being quite serious in the state of Maharashtra, the state government has decided to cancel school-level exams for primary and upper primary students. Maharashtra School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad today announced the decision through an official tweet sent out from her official account.
In a short video message posted via her Twitter account, Ms Gaikwad said that “In view of the ongoing situation due to #Covid 19, all state board students across Maharashtra state from Class 1st to Class 8th will be promoted to the next class without any examinations. A decision regarding students of class 9th and 11th will soon be taken.”
Students Concerned about SSC and HSC Exams
With the recent rise in the COVID-19 cases across the country and a very aggressive second wave going on in Maharashtra, several students and parents have raised concerns about the upcoming SSC and HSC Exams 2021. Maharashtra SSC and HSC Exams 2021 are scheduled to commence from 23rd April 2021.
Admit Cards or hall tickets for HSC Exams are slated to be released today and will be available to the students via their respective schools. Despite the concerns raised by students, the education department of the state has insisted that all possible precautions would be taken by the board to conduct the examinations in a safe and secure manner.
