Meghalaya Schools Closed from Tomorrow: As per the latest update, the Meghalaya State Government has decided to close down schools in the Shillong area from tomorrow for the next 14 days. As per the details available right now, all schools in the state capital Shillong’s jurisdiction will remain closed until 4th May 2021. However, MBOSE 10th and 12th Exams 2021 i.e. SSLC and HSSLC Exams will be held as per the schedule announced earlier.

With COVID-19 2nd wave intensifying across the country, several students and parents had raised concerns about the safety of the students as regular classes were continuing for them. In line with this, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma made an announcement confirming that the schools in the Shillong area would remain closed for the next fortnight. Mr. Sangma took to Twitter to announce the news in which he also confirmed that while schools would be closed in the state capital but MBOSE SSLC and HSSLC Exams 2021 would continue unaffected by it.

Meghalaya HSSLC Exam 2021 to continue until 12th May

Currently, the Meghalaya Board of School Education – MBOSE is holding the MBOSE HSSLC Exam 2021 for Class 12 students. The Higher Secondary Level School Certificate (HSSLC) exams for Class 12 students are being held from 16th April to 12th May 2021. As of now, the state government has not taken any decision about Class 10 or SSLC Exams 2021. Earlier, the Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said the state government is waiting for an update of the review conducted by Additional Chief Secretary D P Wahlang, in charge of education, for holding Class 10 examinations.
