Petition filed in SC asking for Class 12 exams to be conducted: The Supreme Court has been approached with a plea filed by a teacher in Idukki District in Kerala regarding the cancellation of the Class 12 Examinations. The plea has been filed by Maths teachers countering petitions seeking the cancellations of the Class 12 exams of the Central Board of Secondary Education and the Council for Indian School Certificate.
Cancellation of exams concerning
The petition filed by the application stated deep concern regarding the discussions around the cancellation of the class 12 exams as it is an integral part of the education of the students. The applicant in the plea further states that an atmosphere is created around the exams to force the authorities to cancel the exams. Elaborating on the point the applicant stated that an atmosphere for cancelling the exams is being created in order to create pressure on the respondents to take a decision to cancel the exams. Petitions filed and social media petitions by students is an attempt to strengthen the said atmosphere.
Class 12 exams not similar to class 10
The petition filed states that the class 12 exams cannot be considered similar to the class 10 exams. A decision to cancel the exams will be prejudicial to the interest of the students, the applicant further added. It was further pointed out that educationists and others are also of the view that a delay of three or four months in life means nothing to a person in the long run which is why the exams must be conducted.
The petition was filed in response to a plea filed earlier for the class 12 exams to be cancelled and the students be marked based on the internal exams submitted by Kerala Teachers adding the previous petition filed is premature as the respondents are yet to sit for a review of the situation.
