As per tentative estimates, around 8.5 lakh Class 12 students, and 12 lakh Class 10 students will appear in the WB Board examination this year.
Shorter Exam for Main Subjects Only
As per the details shared by the exam authority, the state government has directed WBSCHE and WBBSE to hold the board exams in curtailed format keeping in mind the current prevailing COVID-19 situation. Reports have confirmed that WB 10th and 12th Exam 2021 would be held only for key subjects that are necessary for further academic progression. Moreover, the exam would be held only for a period of 90 minutes instead of complete 3 hours papers. Also as part of the relief measures, the state government has also asked the boards to not use the external examination system for this year and instead allow students to appear for WBCHSE HS Exam 2021 and WBBSE Madhyamik Exam 2021 at their respective schools from where they are registered.
